Rainbow dress down day
Friday 22nd October 2021
World Mental Health Day falls on the 10th October. This year’s theme is “Mental Health in an unequal world”. The Covid-19 pandemic has shone a light on the inequalities we face both in our own communities and globally. World Mental Health Day is a good way to take stock of the situation and for people to try (even in just a small way) to help change the situation. Therefore, in celebration and to support Head to Toe, our local NHS mental health charity, we are inviting all Chesterton pupils to take part in a rainbow dress down day on Friday 22nd October and to donate £1 to support children and young people’s NHS mental health services.
On the day we would like our pupils to wear clothing which contain as many colours of the rainbow as possible. Please note that there is no need to go out and buy clothing especially, just to put together a colourful outfit using clothes already in wardrobes at home. We very much hope that all parents and pupils in the Chesterton community will join us and support this worthwhile event.
We would also like to bring to your attention the fact that the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough C&YP Mental Health have produced a helpful website which brings together good reliable up to date information on mental health and well-being for children and young people, parents/carers and professionals.
