Chesterton Primary School is now closed, to all children except those of Critical Workers and Vulnerable children.

All remote learning is uploaded through Google Classrooms. Every child has a login, which will take them to their class page. On here you will find the work uploaded for the day. Every class teacher will also run three live teaching sessions daily. The are at various times to support families with more than one child in the school.

Reception, Year 6 and Year 5: 9:00am, 10:30am and 12:30pm

Year 3 and Year 4: 9:30am, 10:00am and 1:00pm

Year 1 and Year 2: 10:00am, 10:30am and 1:30pm

Following the live teaching sessions there will be following work and assignments for the pupils to complete. Once work is completed the teachers will provide feedback, this might be acknowledgement of work or detailed feedback to further support learning.

If you are not able to access online learning, please contact the school. We will be able to support you in the following ways:

  • Issue a school device to access the online platform.
  • Request data increase through your mobile phone provider (see letter below)
  • Provide printed work.
  • Provide paper based resources e.g work books.

The Government requirement for remote education states:

Key Stage 1: 3 hours a day on average across the cohort, with less for younger children
Key Stage 2: 4 hours a day

With Chesterton Live sessions, work set and additional suggested tasks, the school are fulfilling this requirement.

Following the remote learning we will be taking a register of who accesses the live session and who submits work. We expect, children to log on to the live sessions and contribute where asked. We also expect work to be submitted for feedback via Google Classrooms, email or printed work sent to the school. If we notice your child is not engaging with the remote education we will call to ask what support we can provide and/or understand the barrier to engagement. We will be treating each pupil as an individual as all situations are different and offering support on a case by case basis.

For further information on our remote education offer, please refer to the policy below.

If you need to contact the school please email; admin@chestertonprimary.org. Please be aware, during this time, the school phone lines are not always being answered.
