On Friday 9th March 2018, Rowan Class had their Stone Age workshop by children's author, Robin Price. The morning began with a trip through time, 800,000 years ago, when the first people came to Britain. The children learned all about the ferocious beasts that lived in the Stone Age and how the people would hunt for food. Rowan even went on an imaginary mammoth hunt, role-playing how the cavemen would catch their prey, using flint spears and jabbing- or throwing-sticks.
In the afternoon, Rowan used their knowledge to plan and write an exciting Stone Age story, in pairs. The children included interesting facts, speech and got to read their adventure stories to the class on the microphone! It was a busy and fun-packed day!
