This spring term we have been learning about the body and the digestive system. We had a wonderful visit from the Cambridge Science Centre, to work with Willow class and find out about how our body uses food to help us and what foods are best for our body. We were shown the process of how food is broken up in our mouths and the movements from the oesophagus through the stomach and finally through the intestines until we get rid of the waste. The class then looked at the different ways in which the key groups of food (fruit & vegetables, dairy, carbohydrate, protein, fats and sugars) help our bodies and how these are processed.
