This term at Chesterton Primary School, we have introduced Peer Massage. Each class has been having sessions on the Peer Massage routine, and then putting it into their daily curriculum. Peer Massage encourages respect and increases children’s engagement levels. To celebrate what the children had learnt, we decided to host a Mother’s Day Massage event. All the Mothers or Grandmothers in the school were invited to come in on Friday 9th March, just before Mother’s Day. They were given massage by their own children, using the routine the children had learnt. This allowed us to show what Peer Massage is and give the Mother’s a treat for Mother’s Day. There was a great turn out for this event, with the children really enjoying showing what they had learnt.
